The executives at Universal and Warner Brothers have figured out how this whole muggle/Potter thing works. They build epic theme parks with near screen accuracy on some of the attractions and we as fans rush to Florida (and someday SoCal) to immerse ourselves in the world we love. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s Hogsmeade and Hogwarts have been one of the greatest experiments in amusement park history, causing hundreds of thousands of Potter fans to hop around the globe to get in on the Gryffindor goodness.
Starting July 8th, Potterheads will now also be able to experience Diagon Alley by taking the Hogwarts Express (an interactive ride in and of itself) between Hogsmeade and the new area in Universal Studios.
Watch the Nerdist twitter this afternoon for your first look inside Diagon Alley at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
Wait…i can take the Hogwarts Express to go from Hogsmede (which is in Islands of Adventure) to Diagon Alley which is in Universal Studios?! What if I only have a one-day pass to Islands of Adventure…can I not go to Diagon Alley?
That’s correct. You need a park to park pass to be able to go to the expansion. Its just another way for universal to make you spend what is basically double the price of a one day pass on a park to park pass.
That’s such bullshit.
A very long time ago (I’m not sure if this is a Ringling Bros. story or just some smaller circus or carnival) a fellow as a youth worked at a circus (let’s say) and he wondered about people who had complaints or who weren’t really amused by it all. The manager took him into the ticket wagon and pointed to a table covered in stacks of cash. “Can you tell me which dollars came from which customer?” No, he could not. “My point exactly.”
Actually, you don’t need a part to park pass to just go to Diagon Alley. you Just need to go to Universal Studios for that, BUT if you want to ride the Hogwarts Express, you need a 2-park pass.
