The Rotating Sculpture from AGE OF ULTRON is Real, and it’s Spectacular

Remember the giant, rotating statue of The Avengers taking on Ultron and his robotic horde at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron? Well, it’s real, and it was sitting against a back wall at San Diego Comic-Con this year.

Contained in a glass housing and surrounded by camera-confounding lights, this scale statue from Comicave Studios (the same company which blew our minds with its mechanized Hulkbuster) rotated about once every minute to show con goers every detail of the signature summation.

The display was beautiful. I just love that the statue wasn’t CG. It really tells a story thanks to the craftsmanship. It’s reminiscent of the phenomenal Halo 3 trailer that used a diorama to display a frozen scene of a final battle.
