The Punisher Speaks in New DAREDEVIL Teaser

We’re still a little over a month from the dropping (and inevitable countrywide binge-watch) of Netflix and Marvel’s Daredevil season two, but we already know quite a bit. We know that Jon Bernthal‘s Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, will be the main adversary of Daredevil (Charlie Cox), and we know that Bernthal will eventually be getting his own series out of it. We also know that Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung) will enter the fray, probably to add some more complications to Matt Murdock’s life. But beyond that, and a few promo images, we’re left to speculate. Now, we have a new still-shows-us-nothing promo that does, however, give us our first listen to the Punisher himself.

Granted, it isn’t a whole lot of words. He just says “Bang” at the end of the promo, you know, because the Punisher shoots people with guns. But we also get someone saying “Your work is not yet finished” while the words “The time has come to settle all debts” appears over Daredevil as he stands up on a rooftop. Clearly, he’s got some accounts to square away in this season, which sounds right up our alley. The promo also contains fireworks, which is reference to Chinese New Year (which as of this writing is happening tomorrow, February 8). Will Murdock have some dragons of his own to battle on top of the Punisher and the general criminal element of Hell’s Kitchen? I mean, it wouldn’t be Daredevil without them.

I have this theory that Hell’s Kitchen is the Marvel Universe’s answer to Gotham City. In reality, Hell’s Kitchen isn’t that bit, certainly not huge enough to warrant its own superhero, let alone several, but it allows for the darker elements of the comics stories to come to the forefront, while New York City in general, which is home to people like Spider-Man and the Avengers, can be a little brighter, a little less foreboding, not unlike Superman’s Metropolis. Food for thought.

Daredevil season two dropkicks its way to Netflix on March 18. How much of it do you plan on watching on one sitting? The whole thing?!?! You’re a crazy person, we love it! Let us know in the comments below!
