By now you’ve probably read countless footage descriptions or blurry cell phone bootlegs of the Suicide Squad trailer that director David Ayer unveiled at the Warner Bros./DC Comics panel at San Diego Comic-Con. We even recapped all the biggest stories from that momentous panel (including the Batman v Superman trailer) on a special edition of Nerdist News. However, the one thing missing was an official version of the Suicide Squad trailer in glorious HD. Well, today Warner Bros. and DC Comics made good by releasing the full trailer online.
After watching it upwards of five times, I have to say that I am very excited for what Ayer has put together; it looks different than everything else we’ve seen so far in a very compelling way. Don’t even get me started on how good Harley Quinn is translating to the big screen. Plus, Leto’s Joker looks unnerving in all the right ways; I’m still wondering just how large of a part he’ll play, but I’m pleased by this early glimpse nonetheless.
At the very least, it looks way better than the Suicide Squad trailer everyone was expecting to see:
Stay tuned tomorrow to Nerdist News for a complete trailer breakdown and further analysis. In the meantime, peep some screenshots from the trailer and let us know your thoughts on it in the comments below.
