THE LEGEND OF KORRA Goes on a Toy Bender!

She’s the Avatar, and you gotta deal with it!

The world’s greatest spirit and element bender, Avatar Korra, is on her way to your figure collections in the most adorable fashion imaginable! Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid line is releasing the chibi-inspired Korra, which you’ll be able to use to recreate her infamous introduction illustrated above.

We’ve reviewed the Nendoroid Link from Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, so you can expect this figure to have similar ranges of motion. According to the description, Korra will come packaged with both fire and water special effect accessories, which combined with the stabilizing base will allow you to pose the Avatar in at least two of the four bending stances. Korra’s hair even includes multiple joints for dynamic posing, to reflect the kinetic motion of bending. Currently, the item description leads me to believe the figure will only be shipping with one face mold, as opposed to some other Nendoroid figures which ship with multiple interchangeable options. Even if that’s the case, it’s a fitting expression for the character and for the Nendoroid line: adorably badass.

Funnily enough, this figure is technically the first Korra action figure released based on the series, though a few statuettes have been introduced in the past few years, including this Lin Beifong PVC statue introduced at last year’s Comic-Con. Even Nendoroids are much more of a collector’s figure than traditional playthings, but there are posable joints, so that’s enough for me to call this Legend of Korra’s first action figure.

The pre-order period is currently open in Good Smile’s online store, at a price of ¥4,800. After taxes, shipping, and currency conversion, that amounts to just over $60 USD, or at least it did the last time I purchased a Good Smile figure for ¥4,800. Again, if personal experience is allowed to weigh in, once the figure reaches shops stateside, you can likely expect to see it retail for a price point closer to $50.

Is this the heroine you’ve been looking for? Let us know in comments.
