The GILMORE GIRLS Return in Official Trailer for Revival

A lot has changed in Stars Hollow, as it seems from the looks of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Netflix has released the first trailer for the much-anticipated revival, and the biggest sign that things are different? Emily Gilmore is wearing a t-shirt and jeans. I never thought I’d type that sentence, but here we are.

The running thread through this first trailer is that our Gilmore gals are feeling lost. Lorelai isn’t sure she’s happy with what she has (though thank god she says things are good with Luke!), Rory is jobless and wandering around, and Emily is dealing with life as a widow following Richard’s passing. It look as though the four-part miniseries will focus on their journeys and how they get back on track… or maybe about how they don’t. Who knows? I’m incredibly excited to find out.

Aside from the tease about the general plot, the trailer is packed with cameos and enough joy to make this Gilmore Girls fan get a little weepy-eyed. I mean, did you see Lorelai and Sookie in the kitchen of the Dragonfly Inn together? There’s the return of the fast-paced, pop culture-laden chatter, glimpses at all of Rory’s ex-beaus, Taylor and his town meetings, and—oh my goodness—Kirk at Friday Night Dinner. What is even happening in this world?

Damn, I can’t wait to return to Stars Hollow. It looks like this revival is going to push all the right buttons when it arrives on November 25.

When you think about the trailer, what’s the first word that pops into your head? Share it with me in the comments or at Twitter.
