The First Nature Doc for the Oculus Rift is Coming

There’s a nature documentary coming to the Oculus Rift, so you can basically put yourself into the middle of the action. Or the sky. It’s called Conquest of the Skies, and it’s by famed documentarian David Attenborough.

Atlantic Productions, which is developing Conquest of the Skies, is developing a slate of 3D nature documentaries, with this one targeting the Oculus Rift VR headset. Speaking with Real Screen in Cannes, Atlantic’s commercial director said that they would be filming Conquest using an eight-camera setup so that viewers could get a full, 360° experience.

No word on how Conquest of the Skies will be distributed (or what it will cost, for that matter), but we’ll keep an eye out for more details.

With all due respect OzarkCatholic You are winhisg for a time that never existed. As a 22 year old you don’t really have a clue as to what Vatican-II really means or meant. I get so tired of hearing about Orthodox Teaching as though the Church (and I am NOT talking about those individuals who have abused it) has been off course since Vatican II and all we have to do is go back to the Mass the way it was and it will be all better.Thank you Fr. Roderick for your reply to the comments from the previous show. You explained your position well and clarified what originally sounded like a distaste for anything V-II.I most certainly agree with your comments about the Dutch Church, although I would group them into various categories. Some were out and out abuses and others were things done in good faith, albeit misguided. The Dutch Catechism would be an example of that. So, I do not mean to belittle your comments OC but there is no magic wand. The last 50 years are only a miniscule part of Church History. The Fathers of Vatican II were guided by the Holy Spirit and some (not all) attempts to dismiss the changes of the Council are misguided efforts of those who really do not understand. Thanks for a civil and courteous conversation!

Awesome, I’m glad things that aren’t games are already looking at Oculus Rift. ..Not saying anything against games, but variety is going to help.
