The Action Gets Crazy-Go-Nuts in New AVENGERS TV Spot

About time we see some ass-kicking! The last several trailers and teasers we’ve seen for Avengers: Age of Ultron have been pretty dour, big-upping Ultron’s menace and the overall helplessness of the trouble at hand. But these are the AVENGERS, for Thanos’ sake! The robot without strings will surely be a force to be reckoned with, but so are our favorite heroes! This new minute-long teaser allows our team to shine, both as a group and individually, and boy howdy is it exciting. YES I SAID “BOY HOWDY” AND I DON’T EVEN CARE. CAPITAL LETTERS.

After we get verbal confirmation from Tony Stark that Captain America is indeed the leader of the team, in a manner only Tony’s ego can allow, we get short little snippets of each of the characters being fantastarastic. Standouts in this for sure are Captain America frigging throwing a motorcycle at bad guys, Thor treating Cap’s shield like a slowball at the batting cages, and the two n00bs, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, finally getting to do anything other than stand and brood.

I think my favorite thing about this trailer is the order in which the characters are showcased. Because, you know what? Black Widow IS the third most important hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She’s been in more movies than Hulk and Thor and she’s gotten a lot more character development than either of them. Sure, Hulk is a big green rage monster and Thor is a god with a new-found trendy dress sense, but Widow is the one who came from moral darkness back to relative moral lightness.

Also Hawkeye is in this movie.

As if we weren’t already excited, this just makes us hope May 1st shows up even faster than before.

That cocky Russian Quicksilver. I love it.

  2. Taylor Anne says:

The severe lack of Hawkeye in these trailers is scaring me. He is one of my favorites and I genuinely don’t know if the MCU will finally get him right. Also Black Widow is arguably more important even than that. She is so deserving of her own stand alone film!
