Dominic Purcell’s Heat Wave Joins the Cast of CW’s ARROW-FLASH Spinoff Show!

The next show to emerge from the ever-expanding DC TV Universe has just recruited its latest cast member, and it’s another acquisition from The Flash‘s rogues gallery — Dominic Purcell’s Mick Rory, a.k.a. Heat Wave. Purcell will again join his Prison Break buddy Wentworth Miller, whose Captain Cold was already announced. Rounding out the cast will be Brandon Routh’s billionaire philanthropist/inventor Ray Palmer (who debuted his Atom supersuit in the latest episode of Arrow), Flash‘s Victor Garber — whose Dr. Martin Stein will, thus far, be appearing sans the other half of his Firestorm persona (Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond) — and the most talked about cast member, Arrow‘s Caity Lotz. Since (*spoiler alert*) Lotz’s Sara Lance (Black Canary) was killed off in the first episode of Arrow‘s current season, and has since appeared only in flashbacks or hallucination sequences, it remains to be seen who she will play on the new show; which like its two predecessors, will be executive produced by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, joined by Arrow‘s Marc Gugenheim.

Additionally, as our own Kyle Anderson reported last week, three new characters will appear as regulars on the show — characters who are an established part of the DC Universe but have, thus far, not appeared on Arrow or Flash. These include a Han Solo-esque “traveler” (possibly the time-traveling Rip Hunter or Booster Gold), the Latina “female warrior” (perhaps Fury, Wildcat’s goddaughter Yolanda Montez, or some combination of the two), and the African-American “mystery hero” (the odds-on favorite is Static).

What do you folks think about the spinoff show and its cast? Let us know below!

  1. Zac says:

Perhaps Mick Rory becomes the new half of Firestorm. My pick for the new trio will be Booster Gold (amalgamed with Rip Hunter) Renee Montoya/Question, and an african american Rex Mason/Metamorpho. I’m thinking Sara Lance comes back as a Talon, brought back to life by the corut of Owls..that or Merlyn faked her death somehow.
