Take a Virtual Tour of Q’s Lab from SPECTRE

In just about every James Bond movie since 1964’s Goldfinger, there’s a scene where 007 takes a journey to Q Branch to visit the Quartermaster himself and get whatever gadgets he’s going to need on the mission. (And he always ends up needing those exact gadgets… hmm…  did Q get an advanced look at the script?). On the occasions where Bond hasn’t had time to go to the main London lab, he ends up getting Q’s help in the field, or going to a satellite lab that… well, just happens to be there. In any case, we always get a glimpse at some of the goodies the scientists at MI6 are cooking up. It’s like Willy Wonka’s factory; we just want to see as much as we can.

Now, you can in fact take a stroll through Q’s laboratory—the one from the most recent Bond film, Spectre—thanks to the above virtual tour. It may only be a 45 second video, but you can pause it at any time and use the 360-degree button to spin around and take a look at what stuff the branch is working on. Granted, you can’t zoom in on anything, but you do get a pretty good idea of all the vehicles Q is suping up, culminating in the reveal of Bond’s gorgeous Aston Martin at the end.

Ben Whishaw‘s portrayal of Q in both Skyfall and Spectre was among the highlights of both movies. Even if Daniel Craig decides to hang up his white dinner jacket, we certainly hope that Whishaw will stick around for more, much like his predecessor Desmond Llewellyn did for 17 movies.

What would you do if you had access to Q’s lab for a day? Share it with is in the comments below!
