One of the reasons that Stranger Things caught fire last year is that it brought together a young cast of extremely talented young performers. Gaten Matarazzo was a standout as Dustin, the comic relief of the central clique of junior adventurers in Hawkins. Now, Matarazzo is putting his comedic skills and Stranger Things to the test with a rapid-fire recap of the entire first season.

Matarazzo filmed this video for Teen Vogue, which challenged him to walk fans through the major events of the first season using only the objects in the room as his guide. Fortunately for everyone, Matarazzo barely needed the help at all and he seemed to be intimately familiar with the story beats of the show.

We wouldn’t be at all surprised if there are comedy projects in Matarazzo’s future. Some of his funniest moments in this recap seemed to be completely spontaneous, including the part where he put on Barb’s glasses while talking about her importance in the first season. Also, his line about “smartacle particles” is now our new favorite thing to say. (What do you think—does Gaten have a future in comedy, or should he stick to the sinister and horrific? That path does seem to be working out for his pal Finn Wolfhard, after all…)

All nine episodes of Stranger Things season two will premiere on Friday, October 27 on Netflix.
