STAR WARS and GAME OF THRONES Eats to Try at San Diego Comic-Con

Do you feel it? The smell, the ache, the hunger? It’s that time of year again—Comic-Con is back! If you’re headed down to San Diego for the full week you’re going to need more than granola bars to survive, and convention hall food just isn’t going to cut it. Do yourself a solid and break away from the masses to enjoy some fantastic opportunities to soak up the local scene and indulge in special Comic-Con exclusive eats.

Offsite is where it’s at as Con-X, hosted by Entertainment Weekly, is offering up food trucks with picnic areas, as well as the all-important hydration and charging stations. More important than food? Phone battery, especially when there might be a Rhyhorn right around the corner. While charging, you can kill time by rolling up to the SweeTARTS “Follow Your Tart” custom candy lab to makingyour own candy creations.

The holy grail of adorableness is back in the form of the Hello Kitty food truck, which makes its stop at the Interactive Zone at Petco Park. If years past tells us anything it’s that there will be donuts, cookies, and cakes all kawaii’ed up and ready for the the Con.

Eater has offered up a few hot tips if you’re headed to San Diego, like the Naruto bowl at Tajima Ramen. Now’s your chance to indulge in Naruto Uzumaki’s favorite food. Anime fans will have to buy a bowl just for the numerous Naruto cosplay selfie opportunities alone.

Bake Sale Bakery is where to stock up on Star Wars snacks like Wookiee Cookies, and maybe a pick me up lunch of Yoda’s Dagobah soup. It should have all the sustenance needed for a long day of Jedi training, or walking the Con floor. Both take keen determination and perseverance.

Salt Box Dining & Drinking are getting into the action by serving up The Wolverine Burger (please let these be skewered), a Deadpool Chicken Chimichanga, and Aunt May’s Buckwheat Pancakes. What, no nut loaf?

Meanwhile The Blind Burro kicks down the door with their Game of Thrones Wun Wun’s Giant Dog. A fitting tribute for a fallen warrior.

What themed food are you looking forward to trying, providing you can pull yourself away from the convention center for a bite? Let us know in the comments and tag @nerdist and @justjennrecipes on Instagram to show us your snacks!
