Star Trek: The Next Generation debuted 30 years ago this month and brought the franchise back to TV after a nearly two decade long break. That’s why it’s fitting that the first ever Star Trek Mission Crate is celebrating TNG;s anniversary by focusing on one of the series’ best stories: “The Best of Both Worlds.”
Loot Crate is behind the new Star Trek Mission Crate boxes, which will be a bi-monthly subscription service that features various Trek collectibles, t-shirts, and other merchandise mailed right to your door. The theme for the initial shipment is “Wolf 359,” which refers to the disastrous battle between the Federation and the Borg, which had assimilated Captain Jean-Luc Picard into Locutus of Borg. Armed with Picard’s knowledge, Locutus gave the Borg their biggest victory in the war. Fittingly enough, Quantum Mechanix is including a Mini Master Locutus figure in this crate.
The Locutus Mini Master is six inches tall and is currently only slated to be available through a subscription to the Mission Crate. Fans who sign up for the service will also receive a 20% off discount code for CBS All Access, so they can watch the latest episodes of Star Trek: Discovery.
The Star Trek Mission Crates are priced at $39.99 per box, and you can order them through Loot Crate. The “Wolf 359” box will only be available until November 15, and it will ship out in December. The second installment should drop in early February 2018.
