Smiling Shark Looks Just Like FINDING NEMO’s Bruce

“I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food.”

Good publicity can also go a long way to changing peoples’ long-held perceptions about you, especially when you’re known the world over as the perfect evolutionary eater, which is why you always want to make sure you put on your best face in public. That goes doubly when Finding Dory, the long-awaited sequel to Pixar‘s Finding Nemo, opens this summer and you’ll be back in the spotlight.

Maybe that is why this shark that looks just like the reformed-fish eater shark Bruce from the first movie made sure to show off his pearly whites for a photographer recently.

The picture was taken this past February in the waters off of Juniper, Florida by Kenneth “Wayne” MacWilliams. Apparently this is a lemon shark, but rather than being bitter it is known as the friendliest of sharks, so maybe its big smile shouldn’t be quite that surprising.

As we all know from Bruce though, a shark is still a shark, and, no matter how much they want to stop eating their friends, they can’t change their nature so easily, so you still need to be careful around them and avoid letting yourself be confused for a meal.
