Audrey Horne is moving back to Twin Peaks! A new report states that Sherilyn Fenn has signed on for Showtimeâs Twin Peaks revival and she is said to have âa major presence in the new installment.â
Fennâs Audrey was a young woman on the original Twin Peaks series when it debuted in 1990. Audrey attempted to help Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) solve the murder of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) while not-so-secretly carrying a torch for Cooper. The final episode of the series left Audreyâs fate up in the air, but itâs likely that she survived if Fenn has a big role in the revival.
According to the initial report in Deadline, Fennâs deal to return to Twin Peaks âcame down to the wireâ because the miniseries was already in production while Fenn was shooting her recurring role on Shameless, another Showtime original drama. Showtime hasnât confirmed Fennâs return, but then again the only original Twin Peaks cast member that Showtime has officially announced is MacLachlan.
Richard Beymer will also be back as Audreyâs father, Benjamin Horne, with Sheryl Lee reprising her role as Laura Palmer. Other returning cast members include Miguel Ferrer, Dana Ashbrook, Mädchen Amick (Shelly Johnson), Everett McGill, and Wendy Robie. However, the newest report states that Lara Flynn Boyle has decided not to return as Donna Hayward.
Director David Lynch is currently filming the Twin Peaks miniseries from scripts that he co-wrote with Mark Frost. But even Showtime doesnât know how many episodes the Twin Peaks miniseries will run. That will be determined after filming concludes. Twin Peaks is expected to premiere on Showtime in 2017.
