Shannen Doherty Is Finally a MALLRATS Action Figure

It only took 21 years, but Shannen Doherty is finally getting her own action figure! Back in 1995, Doherty co-starred in Kevin Smith‘s second film, Mallrats as Rene Mosier, the on-again, off-again girlfriend of Jason Lee‘s Brodie Bruce. Brodie and Jay action figures were previously released by Diamond Select Toys, but now Rene and Smith’s Silent Bob are headlining the Mallrats Select Action Figures Series 2.

Later this week at Comic-Con, Diamond will formally unveil the Mallrats Series 2 figures alongside several other comic related toys and statues. But you don’t have to be in San Diego to see what they look like. Diamond posted an advance preview online, which offers a great look at both Rene and Silent Bob.

As you can see, both figures come with backdrops inspired by the film. Rene is posed in front of Fashionable Male, while Silent Bob stands proud in front of Popular Girl. Both figures reportedly have 16 points of articulation, but it’s the Silent Bob figure that has the best accessories: an alternate masked head, a grappling gun, and an utility belt. Rene comes with a purse, a videotape, and a shopping bag. Both figures were sculpted by Patrick Piggott.

Diamond has not announced a release date for the Mallrats Series 2 figures, but there may be more details at the Diamond booth during Comic-Con. Smith recently spoke about his new plans to give Mallrats a sequel as a ten-episode miniseries, but whether that project comes together remains to be seen.
