How would you like to get into the heads of the characters of the September release The Maze Runner? The film’s cast and director were on-hand during Comic-Con to chat with host Jessica Chobot about getting lost with their characters in the sci-fi thriller based on the James Dashner novel.

Stars Dylan O’Brien (Thomas), Kaya Scodelario (Teresa), and Will Poulter (Will Poulter) joined director Wes Ball to talk with Jessica about fan reactions to the film during a Comic-Con screening, and keeping the audience guessing. The film follows the amnesiac Thomas, who awakens in a community of boys trapped in an ever-shifting maze designed and controlled by parties unknown.

According to Ball, the secrets packed into the novel and script will slowly play themselves out on the big screen – viewers will only know as much as Thomas and the other boys know. So don’t go into it expecting big reveals up front.

The Maze Runner will be in theaters on September 19.
