Ripley the Puppy Gets An Adorable ALIENS Power Loader Costume

Loyal Nerdist readers, you know that we are unabashed lovers of all things cute and cuddly. You also know that we are especially fond of any chance to see lovable little animals dressed up in wonderful geeky cosplay. Well, we may have hit the adorable mother lode with this newest puppy and costume pairing. Or rather, we hit the power loader, like the one from Aliens, because that’s just what was made for this puppy named Ripley.

Frank Ippolito and Bill Doran of Punished Props made a tiny dog-sized replica of the famous yellow mechanical exoskeleton, the one used by Sigourney Weaver in Aliens, for Ripley the Boston terrier mascot of Tested. They made this entire foam suit complete with replica arms and legs during a short build at this year’s DesignerCon. They did it all in under five hours, which means it was a quick enough to be really impressive, but long enough that it gave us a chance for a sleeping-puppy montage. Yes, this also includes a montage of Ripley napping, in case you thought this wasn’t the best video already.

Now maybe some of you are thinking that instead of a puppy power loader they should have made one for an orange cat instead, but the cat was named Jones, not Ripley. If anything, let’s get Ripley a tiny cat and just achieve world peace via this costume.

The guys were a little unhappy that the yellow paint didn’t take as well as they’d hoped, and the legs were obviously too long, so they said they might try to make another one of these in the future. Even though we love this one, that’s fine with us.

So long as we get another napping dog montage too.
