RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER Trailer Looks Outstanding

The first international trailer for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter dropped today, and it looks incredibly badass. The sixth and final installment in the amazing film franchise will finally complete the story of Milla Jovovich’s character, Alice. After surviving the near extinction of humanity in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice has found herself alone on Earth to fight off the hordes of the undead.

Of course, Alice isn’t the only survivor—because that would be a pretty boring movie—and so she returns to where it all began: The Hive in Raccoon City.  It’s there that the Umbrella Corp is rallying its final attack against the survivors of the apocalypse, and Alice is going to have to do everything she can to save humanity.

While it’s definitely a huge bummer that we’re about to close the book on Alice’s adventures fighting for humanity, this movie sounds like it is going to be completely badass. If you weren’t totally in love with Resident Evil: Retribution, it sounds like The Final Chapter is going to take things back to the basics and remind us all of why we fell in love with the Resident Evil movies in the first place. I’m all for that.

Of course Alice is going to be joined by some familiar faces in the final chapter of her story. Ali Larter will be returning as Claire, Ian Glen as Dr. Alexander Isaacs, and Shawn Roberts will be back as Albert Wesker. Ruby Rose is also going to be joining the cast as Abigail.

All in all, it’s sad to see a beloved franchise end, but from the looks of the first Japanese trailer, Resident Evil is going out with a bang. Unfortunately, we’ve got a bit to wait. The movie doesn’t hit theaters until January 2017. Resident Evil movie night to pass the time? I’ll bring popcorn.

What did you think of the trailer? How do you feel about the franchise ending? What do you hope to see in the new film? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
