Question the Universe in the ZOOLANDER II Teaser Trailer

In 2001, no one went on the Space Odyssey Stanley Kubrick promised his audience back in the ’60s. Instead, moviegoers were introduced to the “so hot right now” Hansel, the devastating Blue Steel, and the greatest supermodel the world has ever known, Derek Zoolander.

14 years later, Zoolander (Ben Stiller) has returned with the first trailer to the 2016 sequel, Zoolander II. Or maybe it’s 2oolander. There is still some debate as to what it will actually be called, as you saw in the video above.

What starts off as something out of Cosmos (either version, Sagan or Tyson, will work) also includes a voiceover by who seems to be Stephen Hawking. We are introduced to the Big Bang Theory, the birth of humanity, and its ability to evolve and reason. Equations start to flash on the screen, and it is only when we see E=MC Hammer that things are not always as they seem. Queue the zoom-out to Derek Zoolander, and the debate over the title begins.

The footage in the trailer is for the trailer only. There were no clips from the movie itself, as well as no appearance by Owen Wilson. It truly is a teaser trailer that gives us the appetite for what’s to come. We can only hope that it’s not a three minute trailer that gives away the best parts of the film before we’ve had a chance to see it.

Zoolander II, starring Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor, and Kristen Wiig, will open in theaters on February 12th, 2016.

So what do you guys think? Are we ready for another round of Blue Steel? Let me know on Twitter or in the comments below.
