POWERS Stars Olesya Rulin and Logan Browning Talk Upping the Stakes in Season 2

The first season of Powers wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, boasting death, betrayal, mysterious substances, high-grade lobotomies, and some of the more harrowing superhuman abilities you’re likely to see on sci-fi television. Even still, fans of the Icon Comics series should prepare for a hike in stakes over the course of its sophomore season.

This is particularly true in regard to the character of Calista, who has big shoes to fill and no shortage of existential demons to battle as this year’s storyline begins to unfold. As Olesya Rulin, who plays Calista on Powers, told our own Dan Casey in the above video, the fledgling superhero will begin looking internally in order to get her high-flying act together, though this doesn’t mean she won’t face her share of attacks from the outside.

Joining Rulin in the above video, Logan Browning expressed bigger and better things for her character Zora. Like Calista, she’ll be forced to set her sights inward to find a few answers to her more pressing questions, though it seems as though a larger solution will lead the young women to seek help from one another.

Character arcs aren’t the only thing that Powers is upping the ante on this year; we’ll see more stunts, more guest stars, and—naturally—more nerdy hypothetical questions. How do superheroes gifted with the power of flight learn how to land?

The first three episodes of Powers’ second season are available online now; the fourth, fifth, and sixth episodes are set to hit the web on June 7.
