Pogo’s STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION Remix Is Super Catchy

Alright, I might as well fess up to something here. I am entirely obsessed with anything Pogo creates and will continue to praise him openly on the internet until we work on a song together (only sort of kidding). Until then I’ll just be looking up at the moon à la An American Tail and blasting his music like his latest “Data & Picard.”

For those unfamiliar with Pogo and what he does, each of his songs consists of remixed moments from a movie/show/clown/video game set to his original music. In his new video, Bertke comes out from behind the editing bay to sing along with his mix while adorned in some proper Star Fleet garb. The song mixes various moments from Star Trek: The Next Generation in some creative ways including some that aren’t nearly musical at all like Picard’s captain’s log numbers. Other remixed moments include the Klingon Victory Song, Commander Data singing a piece from La bohème, Picard’s rendition of Shakespeare, and a rather awesome deep-cut rhyming moment from the episode Timescape.

As always with his videos, Pogo appears to hold each subject in high regard as a creator and as a fan. In addition to the care taken with creating the song, the deep fandom involved in sourcing the materials, and getting done-up in Data make-up – what’s strikes me as impressive is the attention to detail in the video. At first glance it’s hard to gather that it’s been green-screened with the accurate-as-possible lighting for each background taken into account. All this comes to mean one thing: Pogo is continuing to grow and improve with his creations and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future of his music and videos.

What’s your favorite Pogo track? Do you think he and I have a chance to be internet buds? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
