Aldo Jones Gives SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING the Weird Trailer Treatement

Boy oh boy, there is a lot to unpack in this latest weird trailer by Aldo Jones. His unique (to say the least) take on re-cutting movie trailers into wonderful nonsense is truly one of the best things about the internet these days. We’ve featured this expertly executed trailer weird-ification before with his takes on Captain America: Civil War and the upcoming Justice League film. And while a dancing Bruce Wayne would have been enough of a gift to the world, we’re glad Aldo continues to produce these trailers. (Note: that needlessly racy Harley Quinn image in the thumbnail is–thankfully–not in the trailer itself.)

His latest cut of the trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming is so densely packed with oddities that it’ll take quite a few viewings to catch them all. The biggest moments of these weird trailers–like the Bruce Wayne dance for JL–are things we just know will be in our heads when we watch the actual films. In the case of this new one, we’ll never be able to un-see what Jones did with Spidey’s return to the classic “web-wings” on his suit. (Although, on a side note, we’re relatively happy we literally got to name an image on the site “SpideyFart.”)

Flaming arachno-flatulence aside, what makes every weird trailer special is the hidden gems Jones crams into each of them. Our favorite, if we could even dare to pick only one, is the incorporation of the Jerry Lewis-like miming of Leroy Anderson’s “The Typewriter” while Peter gets a talking to by Tony Stark in his car. Here’s the original, for reference.

What are your favorite moments of this latest Weird Trailer? What films would you love to see Aldo Jones tackle next? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

Images: Marvel/Aldo Jones/ and we suppose…  Viacom for Patrick Star being in there?
