PICKSTARTER: Professional Cartoonists are Funding a Wrestling Anthology

Are you ready to rummmmmmmbbbbleeeeeeeeeeeeeee!?

Muscle Temple definitely are. The LA-based team of professional cartoonists and animators are funding a 60-page, soft-cover anthology featuring “weird short comics” and “goofy illustrations” about their love and passion for professional wrestling. Awesome, right?

Check out this video to hear the guys introduce themselves– there’s Zac Gormon from the Rick and Morty comic series, David Smith from Adventure Time, Jimmy Chang from Secret Item World, and many more rad writers and artists who are getting their hands dirty with this fun project.

These guys are asking for $20,000 in order to print the books, and there’s only a few days left in their campaign. “We want to show people who dig comics and cartoons how fun wrestling can be, and we want to show wrestling fans some goofy art that will hopefully make them laugh.”

Sounds like a great idea to us. But if you’re still on the fence about the project, check out… Wrestle Cat! Literally, a wrestling cat. Way too cute. This is from their Tumblr page, which has a lot of quirky illustrations.

Head over here to back the project, because these guys deserve to reach their goal. On the Kickstarter page, you’ll also find a link to share the post via your Facebook or Twitter account–and spreading the love works wonders, too.

What do you think of this project? Are you going to support it? Would you like to read hilarious wrestling comics? Let us know all that good stuff in the comments below.
