OVERWATCH Announces Halloween Terror 2017 Event

October is here and that means it’s time to rise from your coffins and get ready for Overwatch’s seasonal Halloween event! Today, Blizzard announced via Twitter that Overwatch will be hosting their second annual Halloween Terror event on October 10th. Last year, the event included an extremely popular horde mode in which players could fight against zombie robots as Ana, McCree, Hanzo, and Soldier 76. During this mode, you would face off against an AI-controlled Witch Mercy, Evil Doctor Junkrat, Pumpkin Head Reaper, and a Frankenstein’s monster Roadhog. This mode was very well-received, with many in the community begging for a permanent version.

This new video teaser showcases the same Halloween Terror logo from last year with our favorite maniac, Dr. Junkenstein, but it also has some spooky surprises. In the teaser, McCree and Reaper return to face off in the event, but now with some pretty exciting new outfits. These will undoubtedly be a part of the rewards for the event along with others that we are just DYING to see. It’s unclear if the costumes from the previous year will be available this time around, but it is likely since Blizzard made the previous Summer Games costumes available when it returned again. Hopefully we’ll get not only more costumes for characters that missed out last year, but more characters to choose from in horde mode as well.

Also with the Halloween teaser video was this delightfully cryptic poem, released via Overwatch’s Twitter:

The nights grow cold
And monsters appear
A great evil gathers
And Halloween draws near…
