OK Go Defies Gravity in Final Teaser for New Music Video (Exclusive)

We. Can’t. Wait. Any. Longer.

Today, the Nerdist is exclusively premiering the final teaser for OK Go’s upcoming—likely bonkers—music video for “Upside Down & Inside Out,” the lead single off their latest LP, Hungry Ghosts. In one line of the song, frontman Damian Kulash earnestly asks, “Were you scared?” This question, you could say, is the theme of today’s teaser.

First we see Tim Nordwind discussing his pre-flight emotions: “I have mixed emotions right now. Fear of the unknown, mixed with more fear of the unknown.” After a brief glimpse of a bunch of shit flying around in Zero-G, we get a candid interview with Andy Ross, who is feeling just as anxious as his fellow band mate. Cut to: a POV shot of the rig that the crew is using on this plane, which, frankly, looks absurd.

After considering all the tidbits of information we’ve gathered so far, it appears that OK Go will be doing some acrobatic dancing in Zero-G in the skies above Eastern Europe. Given the band’s track record, this will likely outpace their previous music videos in terms of logistics and how-did-they-do-that wonderment. We are seriously excited for tomorrow, when the new video premieres.

Matt Grosinger is the music editor of the Nerdist, and has been in an OK Go rabbit hole all week. He is pretty sure that the pop rock of the self-titled album is his favorite.
