OK Go Takes Flight in New Music Video Teaser (Exclusive)

Okay, so at this stage of things, we have had two OK Go teasers that have pretty definitively implied that the band would be airborne in their next music video for “Upside Down & Inside Out.” So far we’ve seen a combined thirty seconds of the viral-video making four piece getting a medical checkup in eastern Europe and practicing dance moves. But to what end?

In today’s exclusive teaser for the band’s new video, we finally see the band take flight in some sort of airplane. Interspersed with shots of said airplane gaining altitude, Damian Kulash and Andy Ross explain, to the best of their abilities, the physics of what is going on in the new music video: “It accelerates towards the ground,” Kulash says matter-of-factly. You know, like how normal airplanes work?

Though we still don’t know if the band will be performing a choreographed dance in zero-g while the the plane takes a nose dive, or if the band will end up parachuting out of the plane to perform some synchronized skydiving–or both!–it looks pretty unreal, and we can’t wait to find out how high the visuals will actually soar this Thursday when the video drops.

Are you excited for the band’s new music video to drop this week? Let us know in the comments below!

Matt Grosinger is the music editor of the Nerdist, and is currently nauseous thinking about what OK Go had to do to shoot their new music video. This would definitely be barf city for him.
