Nightwing Has No Time For Love in New BATMAN: BAD BLOOD Preview Scene

Prior to DC’s New 52 reboot, Nightwing and Starfire had been romantically linked in the comics since the early ‘80s, with a few on-again, off-again status updates along the way. While the Teen Titans animated series touched upon the relationship between Nightwing/Robin and Starfire’s younger counterparts, the more adult relationship they shared in the Marv Wolfman and George Perez New Teen Titans run has been rarely depicted onscreen.

The upcoming Batman: Bad Blood will briefly revisit Nightwing and Starfire’s romance, which also continues the running gag from Batman vs. Robin of never giving him the chance to spend some time with her. In a new clip from Batman: Bad Blood, Nightwing (Sean Maher) and Starfire (Kari Wahlgren) try to rekindle their passions over the phone, but Nightwing’s fight with Blockbuster is getting in the way.

Despite Nightwing’s best attempts, their plans are disrupted again by a Batman family emergency. While Alfred (David McCallum) doesn’t elaborate on the problem in the clip, the reason he’s calling is that Bruce Wayne (Jason O’Mara) has seemingly vanished. To find his surrogate father, Nightwing is going to have to team up with Damian Wayne a.k.a. Robin (Stuart Allan) and assume the role of Batman himself! Batman: Bad Blood will also introduce Batwoman (Yvonne Strahovski) and Batwing (Gaius Charles) into the extended Batman family. Morena Baccarin co-stars in the film as Talia al Ghul, with Ernie Hudson as Lucius Fox.

Batman: Bad Blood will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on February 2.
