Happy Monday! And welcome back to another edition of TV-Cap! To kick off the new week of our TV news roundup, we’ve got the first look at Sherlock season four, a much anticipated introduction from Star Wars Rebels, Stephen Colbert‘s 35 seconds on stage at the Republican convention, and more!

Sherlock. You know, Sherlock Holmes did use a dog named Toby in his original adventures. But Toby was half spaniel, and not a bloodhound like the dog pictured with Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch in a new set photo debuted by The Telegraph. But the real Sherlock news was co-showrunner Steven Moffat‘s assertion that this season could be the last.

“I don’t know how long we can keep it going. I’m personally willing but I’m hardly the main draw. I would be moderately surprised if this was the last time we ever made this show. But it absolutely could be,” said Moffat. Obviously the busy schedules of Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman make it difficult to keep the show going, but we don’t ever want to see Sherlock end! Gotham. The Court of Owls is such a recent addition to Batman‘s mythology that most casual fans aren’t even aware of it yet. But that’s going to change next season Gotham, as the secret society that controls the city is formally introduced. Star Wars Rebels. Meet your new favorite villain, if he wasn’t your favorite already! One of the biggest surprises from last weekend’s Star Wars Celebration Europe was the reveal that Grand Admiral Thrawn will be the main villain of Star Wars Rebels season three. Thrawn was introduced as part of the Expanded Universe of novels before Disney wiped the slate clean. Now, Thrawn is back in continuity, and his creator, Timothy Zahn is writing a new Thrawn novel for release next year. The Simpsons. Pokémon Go is insanely popular, and for once, it didn’t take The Simpsons long to parody it! Fox reworked a clip from the 24th season of the series in which Homer was obsessed with his iPhone analogue. A few tweaks and new dialogue from Dan Castellaneta, and suddenly Homer’s playing the hottest mobile game instead! It actually works quite well.

American Gods. The slow rollout of characters from Starz’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s American Gods continues. This time, Entertainment Weekly debuted the first image of Bruce Langley as Technical Boy, one of the new gods. He draws his power from humanity’s love of the internet.

While speaking to EW, showrunner Bryan Fuller said, “We needed to establish a frame of reference for the aesthetic of the Technical Boy, and [director] David Slade, I believe, was the first one to say ‘Commodore 64.’ That will mean more to the audience once they understand more of the Technical Boy’s story — why the Commodore 64 and that era of technology is so informative for the look of him and the story and the general aesthetic when we first sample his world.” [Entertainment Weekly, Image: Starz]

Stranger Things. The first season of Netflix’s original series Stranger Things hit last Friday, and we love it! It tugs on all of our ’80s nostalgia while standing on its own as a very compelling story. You can read our review here.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Stephen Colbert has made Stanley Tucci’s Hunger Games character, Caesar Flickerman, into his own during this election season. And he may have had a peak comedy moment when he took the Republican National Convention stage in-character as Flickerman.
