New X-FILES Trailer Promises New Dangers and Old Enemies

The new trailer is out there.

Tonight, Fox premiered the new trailer for the mini-series revival of the beloved 90s alien-conspiracy hit, The X-Files, airing the first part during tonight’s episode of Gotham, and the second during their new show Minority Report.

The first part starts with Fox Mulder talking about how in 2002 the investigation ended, but his “personal obsession did not.” Well, after being told that “he’s close,” we see Mulder meet up with Skinner(!!!) in a certain empty office, full of pencils in the ceiling and an old forgotten poster lying on the floor. Of course, what good is Mulder without Scully, which is why part 1 ends with Scully taking Mulder’s call.

“Yeah.”

“I’m here.”

Damn right you are!

That’s where part 2 picks up, and to no surprise, the two have “never been in more danger.” Some explosions, fears about being watched, ominous shots of old military activities in remote deserts, those are all just prelude to the real kicker–that cigarette in the darkness. The most exciting cigarette in television history.

Oh. Yes. Hearing Scully warn Mulder that he’s on “dangerous ground here” is like getting a warm hug for our sci-fi souls.

The six-part mini-series premieres on January 24, and quite honestly that’s too far away, so we’ll need to fill our time re-watching the series to get ready.

What are you most excited about from this new trailer? What are you most looking forward to with this mini-series revival? Let’s nerd out together in the comments below. We want to discuss!
