New STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer Dropping Next Week

The galaxy far, far away is about to get a whole lot closer as we make the Kessel Run to Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ December 18 release date. Fortunately, Disney and Lucasfilm are going to make the wait a little bit easier by releasing a new trailer next week. According to ScreenCrush and multiple other reports, the trailer will hit the Internet on October 19, and this will be the final trailer before the film’s theatrical release. It will begin screening in theaters on November 6 in advance of Spectre screenings in case those spooky skeleton mask posters weren’t enough of a reason to get you to see the new James Bond flick.

The upcoming The Force Awakens trailer, which is the first new footage since John Boyega’s lightsaber-wielding Instagram video, will also be accompanied by ticket pre-sale orders from multiple theater chains. Cinemark accidentally spilled the beans by posting an official image on Twitter. Though the image was quickly deleted, eagle-eyed Twitter users managed to screenshot it before it was too late.

According to TheForce.net, several AMC Theaters managers in both the United States and Canada have already notified staff of the upcoming October 19 pre-sale date. An official announcement by Disney and Lucasfilm is expected in advance of the trailer release and pre-sale date, but nothing else has been heard at this time. We’d send our Bothan spies to investigate, but chances are they’ll wind up dead too.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars series stalwarts Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, and Kenny Baker. They will be joined by new cast members John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, and Max von Sydow.

The film his theaters in France on December 16, the United Kingdom on December 17, and North America on December 18.
