With Foxâs Jim Gordon origin story, Gotham, now in full swing, attention has finally shifted away from the showâs pilot to how things will shape up as the seriesâ freshman season progresses. Our own Dan Casey gave a very well thought-out rundown of how the season can improve on the pilot in the most recent episode of The Dan Cave, and now we can find out what’s next for the series in this new look at the upcoming episodes of Gotham Cityâs early days.
Arkham, Victor Zsasz… though Gotham is adding more and more elements from the comics, it appears that things are slowing down. Thisâll create a nice pace for the remainder of season one, which is something that was promised by series creator Bruno Heller. So far, while the pilotâs been met with mixed reaction, this trailer promises us the Gotham weâve wanted to see since the show starting taking shape a year ago. Not only is the main focus on Gordon, but there are also a lot of juicy bits happening around the criminal underworld. The battle between Fish and Falcone alone should make for some highly entertaining television as the fall ticks away.
There may be no masked vigilante, but Gotham is trying really hard to cement itself as a solid entry in the live-action canon of the caped crusader. Will it succeed? Only time will tell, but for now, thereâs reason to be excited about the possibilities it presents.
Gotham airs Mondays at 8/7c on Fox.
