With the plethora of movie trailers having been released over the last few weeks, Deadpool‘s, which debuted months ago, still stands as one of the best. Thanks to ESPN’s SportsCenter, we now know when you’ll be able to check out the next one.
On the December 12 episode of the sports news staple, a promo was shown featuring our favorite Merc with a Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) and announced that the new trailer will premiere Christmas Day during the NBA on ESPN. Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld was able to catch the moment on Instagram.
This is the second time in the last few months that genre movies and sports have entered into their own issue of Marvel-Team Up. It was during an episode of Monday Night Football that we got to see the premiere of the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Speaking of Force Awakens, it has also been confirmed that a 30-second teaser for Deadpool will be shown in front of IMAX showings. You know, just in case you were on the fence.
Deadpool, also starring Morena Baccarin and T.J. Miller, opens in theaters February 12, 2016.
So what do you think? Will you sit through an NBA game to see the new Deadpool trailer, like you did with football and Star Wars? Or will you just bide your time and wait for it to post online? Let me know on Twitter or break the fourth wall in the comments below.
