Nintendo is Bringing the NES Classic Back

If you’re looking to buy an authentic Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition online, get ready to spend upwards of a couple hundred bucks. Nintendo infamously produced a very limited run of the throwback console, so as supply and demand dictates, the low supply is drumming up huge and expensive demand. There’s good news, though: While it seemed like the NES Mini was dead and gone, it turns out that the system will be making a comeback in 2018 (via Uproxx).

This morning, Nintendo of Europe tweeted that the upcoming SNES Classic will continue to be available in Europe in 2018. In a response to that tweet, they added that the NES Classic will make its return in Europe “next summer,” adding that “more info will be shared in the future.”

This news follows a recent interview with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, who low-key suggested to the Financial Times that the beloved console will be making a return, saying, “I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites… You shouldn’t [have to] pay more than $79.99.”

It seems now like the NES Classic’s return is all but confirmed for North America, so will you be picking one up, or were you one of the lucky few who managed to score one the first time around? Let us know in the comments below!
