NOTE, FEBRUARY 2015: We mourn the passing of Harris Wittels, a friend to many at Nerdist and an amazing comedy talent. He was a guest on three of our shows; click these links to hear his November 2014 appearance on You Made It Weird, his first appearance on You Made it Weird,
his appearance on a live You Made it Weird from L.A. Riot Festival, and his appearance on Making It with Riki Lindhome.
What about the song when Harris Wittels comes out?
Thanks.
Great podcast as always. What is the song that was played as Tim Minear came out. It is starting to bother me. π
Somehow podcasts like these inspire me to write while at the same time prove to me that I have no idea how it’s done.
Anyway the podcast was fascinating, funny and insightful.
Tim Minear was brilliant.
I love this panel! I could listen to Tim Minear much much longer! He’s funny, well-spoken and gets to the point. Also: Maybe my hearing is off, but doesn’t he enunciate similarly to Joss Whedon? their working together clearly shows!
I absolutely love the Writers Panel podcasts. They quickly became my second favorite podcast, secondly only to the “great” Nerdist postcast, itself. π
It would interesting to hear conversations about genre that go beyond the question of what makes a good writers room.
As a consumer of television I am interested in hearing about the art of television. It is a great moment for the podcast when Gary Lennon pointed out that establishing correct tone in a script is most important because it made me realize Veena Sud’s focus on genre for a spec might have lead to bad story decisions. Please do more of this.
Ben you seem to be conducting four concurrent interviews. This makes it really hard listening specifically to concentrate on because there are four completely different stories to follow.
Please don’t be afraid to let the writers interact.
I always enjoy this podcast, but this was an especially outstanding episode! Really interesting stuff. Thanks. π
NWP is the best of all Nerdist pods and it totally makes my day (:
Such a great panel of writers, so much info. Looooooved it!
