Watch the Premiere of NERDIST NEWS with Jessica Chobot!

The countdown is over. Today marks the debut of the all new Nerdist News with your host, Jessica Chobot. She’s our favorite news correspondent on the Citadel, so we figured she’d be the perfect person to anchor our brand new show. You may know Jessica from her time on G4, her character in Mass Effect 3, the e-sports events she hosts or that little corner of your heart she crawled into to live forever… that couldn’t just have been us.

In the premiere episode of Nerdist News, you’ll witness Chris Hardwick doing everything he can to woo Jessica away from her busy schedule to host our thrice weekly news show, discover the commonalities between dinosaurs and our favorite action heroes, make a note of what exciting crossover you can expect on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and get the latest on all things Star Trek.

Are you prepared for the mind-melting awesomeness of the Chobot on the Nerdist Channel? Will you be the one to write “FIRST!!!!!” in the comment section? Are these rhetorical questions or real ones? Find out for yourself by tuning in to Nerdist News, subscribing to the Nerdist Channel, and follow the show on Twitter.

  1. Lupine says:

I enjoyed the episode. It made me chuckle some. I think it will get even better with time. Remember, Jon Stewart started out on “Short Attention Span Theater.”

  2. Michael says:

“Yay Prettiness” indeed. Fun little segment – informative with just the right amount of silliness. Anthony is right about the skin tones and the background. Very blendy.

  3. Bobby G. says:

Please stop with the background laughter, makes it sound like you guys are trying too hard to be The Soup.

  4. Lance says:

Thank you Nerdist and Jessica for doing this. It brings such a huge smile on my face seeing nerd news done this way again. Yay! No more reading words and stuff!

  5. Gary Bravender says:

Good first episode, Jessica is a natural(Of course she knows Speilberg Chris) I agree with many here that it’d be wonderful to see other G4 alum join and expand the show. There’s really nothing on TV like AOTS currently and this could be what so many of us have been missing.Make it a full half hour Give Matt a Gadgetron segment.

  6. CJ says:

Jessica Chobot (what a score!) – please bring as many G4 talent as you can to Nerdist.com 🙂

  7. Anthony says:

@Zach – Minor nitpick about the set — the background color was blending into Jessica’s skin tone. Need a lighter background, else Jessica needs to put on some Marlyn Manson makeup (scary).

p.s. NNN – Nerdist News Network, Nerdist News Nightly, Nerdist News Noire? The idea is to make it sound like CNN’s nerdy offspring.

  8. Phil S says:

Hey guys, this was awesome! Just a quick FYI, the link from the Nerdist News email isn’t landing at this url. It’s trying to hit: http://www.nerdist.com/2013/11/nerdist-news-with-jessica-chobot-watch-the-premiere-now

I get a 404 from every link in the email. Not complaining, just thought you might want the heads up!

  9. Antonio D says:

I agree! Awesome first episode! Love the super hot Chobot on this (and Chris is amazingly lovable, as usual, too)! The show has a great look and feel to it. There is an AOTS (RIP/Die zombie G4) vibe here, but it has a nice bit of polish. Looking forward to more Nerdist News! First to say FIRST!!!!!

  10. Zach says:

1st episode was awesome, reminded me of AOTS. The set design was very cool, who designed it? Can’t wait for upcoming episodes!!!!!!!!!!

  11. D.Palmer says:

I really liked it. I hope this continues. Chobot has a certain quality about her that sets her apart. That and she is hot as hell! Just an idea that I’m going to start throwing out there on every comment I make. Emily V. Gordon and Chobot should have a podcast together

  12. Dan Casey says:

@Ryan, think of it like Breaking Bad where Bill Willingham is going out on his own terms with 150 issues across 10+ years, novels, OGNs, a video game series and a film in the works. Better to leave ’em wanting more than to wear out your welcome.

  13. Ryan says:

Jessica is…Awesome! Gorgeous! Adorable! So sad about Fables though!
