With the arrival of Star Wars: The Force Awakens just a heaping handful of days away, we are entering a new era: the era of the annual Star Wars movie. Every year we will have a new story from the galaxy far, far away about the Force, the Rebel Alliance, the First Order, and the heroes and villains within. And every year new actors will be joining the ranks of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford as our most favorite space dudes. And in some cases, these new actors will be playing younger versions of familiar favorites.
One of the most exciting new Star Wars movies in the works is the young Han Solo story, to be written and directed by film and television comedy powerhouses Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. As dynamic a duo as Han and Chewie, Lord and Miller are the brains behind 21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie, Clone High and Last Man on Earth. The casting director with the monumental task of finding the new face of Han Solo is cutting no corners, and has reportedly screened over 2,500 different actors for the role, including Dave Franco, Miles Teller, Draco Malfoy, and Chandler Riggs (a.k.a. Carl from The Walking Dead).
Join Jessica Chobot as we discuss the other actors we heard auditioned for the role and which of Hollywood’s finest we think could live up to our expectations and step into Harrison Ford’s iconic boots, on today’s Nerdist News.

Let us know in the comments if you think any of the actors listed could live up to the legacy of Han Solo, or if there are any that we missed!
