A Complete Breakdown of the New BATMAN V. SUPERMAN Trailer

By now you’ve seen it. Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s the second trailer for Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice! After a 50-second teaser trailer earlier this week, the full-length trailer premiered Wednesday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, four months ahead of the movie’s March 25, 2016 release date.

The new preview revealed a lot of potentially spoiler-level information, so if you wish to enter the movie theater unburdened by advance knowledge, you might want to steer clear of some of the details below. All gone? Okay, here we go.

Here’s some of the new footage we got to feast our eyes on: our first extended look at the dynamic between Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent, a heaping helping of dialogue from Jesse Eisenberg’s divisive incarnation of Lex Luthor, the elucidating back and forth between Bats and Supes when Wonder Woman shows up on the scene, and the biggest reveal of them all — Doomsday sliding down a building to confront our the prototypical version of the Justice League. That’s great, but what does it all mean?!

Join Jessica Chobot as we break down the new trailer and take a look at what’s working, what’s surprising, and what’s been revealed, on today’s Nerdist News!

Thanks for watching the show! In case you missed it, don’t forget to check out the latest episode of Because Science, in which Kyle Hill explains why Han Solo is actually older than Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars through the magic of physics.

Let us know in the comments how you felt about the new Batman v Superman trailer. Are you Team Wayne or Team Kent? Do you like Jesse Eisenberg’s take on Lex? Did you like seeing Doomsday? Was it too spoilery? Let’s discuss!
