Neil Patrick Harris Gets A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS Tattoo

Tattoos and fist bumps—it’s that kind of day in TV-Cap. Read onward and see how Neil Patrick Harris celebrated the renewal of A Series of Unfortunate Events, learn about the Russo Brothers’ next project on TV, find out when Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes are coming to Netflix, and more.

Inked Renewal. What do you do to celebrate when your television series get renewed? You get a tattoo! Okay, that’s not necessarily blanket advice, but it’s working for Neil Patrick Harris. The star of Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events got a tattoo just like his character Count Olaf’s in honor of the show getting picked for a second season. Hey, he’s making the makeup department’s life easier. [Vulture]

The Wrong Voice? When The Muppets came back to ABC with a new format and tone, it didn’t last a full season. Frank Oz, the man behind characters such as Miss Piggy and Fozzie, has some opinions about why the series didn’t hit the mark. He told Variety he saw the first 15 minutes of the new Muppets and said, “I felt the show wasn’t true to the characters. There was a purity in each character that was vital. I felt that purity was being moved around to areas that didn’t feel right.” Read more of his thoughts right this way. [CBR]

All the Chappelle. Dave Chappelle‘s last stand-up special was in 2004. To make up for the 13-year stand-up comedy absence, he’s bringing all the laughs to Netflix with three new specials. Two of them arrive in less than a week, on March 21. Watch the above trailer to get an idea of the topics Chappelle will be covering, and get more details on the specials here at Nerdist.

Back to TV. I don’t want to think about the logistical challenges involved in making a film like The Avengers: Infinity War. After the Russo Brothers wrap on the big-scale movie, they’re headed back to TV with another comic book project. They’ll be adapting Valiant Entertainment’s Quantum and Woody, co-created by writer Christopher Priest and artist Mark Bright. It’s a buddy superhero tale, so it should be right up the Russos’ alley. Open Your Eyes. The recently released trailer for series 10 of Doctor Who gave us a glimpse at the road ahead with the Twelfth Doctor and Bill. But there’s more beyond the surface. Dan Casey worked with Nerdist’s resident Who expert Kyle Anderson to discover five things you might have missed in the trailer, and you can catch them the latest Nerdist News. [Nerdist]

Big Screen. While we’re on the topic of Who, you should know Fathom Events is bringing the series 10 premiere of Doctor Who and the series premiere of the Who spinoff Class to the big screen. Get dates and theater information at Fathom’s website. [ScreenRant]

Practice Your Moves. Disney’s animated series based on Big Hero 6, cleverly titled Big Hero 6: The Series, is set to debut on Disney XD this fall. In the above adorable video, the voice cast gathers to demonstrate Baymax’s fist bump. You can go ahead and try it out because the show has just been picked up for a second season, and that’s a fine reason to exercise the fist bump. [Coming Soon]

Anticipation! If you have enthusiastic feelings about brand freaking new episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 coming to Netflix on April 14, you’re not alone. The wait is about to become more bearable because Netflix is making 20 beloved episodes of the show available to subscribers today, March 15. We understand if you suddenly need work with the affliction known as “I need to watch MST3K right this very instant.” Read Kyle Anderson’s top picks of the streaming additions here at Nerdist.

Going Scripted. National Geographic’s first foray into scripted series territory will premiere on April 25. Genius, a 10-episode series about “how Albert became Einstein,” will star Geoffrey Rush as the celebrated genius. I hope it gives Rush a chance to shine like he did in, uh, Shine.

Oh Geez. Barry keeps on making questionable life decisions in The Flash. What did he do now? Read Joseph’s recap and find out.
