Movie Morsels: X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Video Featurette on the All New Storm

Today’s Movie Morsels has more than a few goodies to push you over the hump in Hump Day, including the latest behind-the-scenes featurette on X-Men: Apocalypse, a new Captain America: Civil War viral video, the latest trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, and plenty more!

X-Men: Apocalypse

We’ve been getting a steady stream of X-Men: Apocalypse videos in recent weeks, with behind-the-scenes looks at the film’s environments and villain. But now Fox is introducing us to some of the other new faces we’ll see in the super-team epic, starting with everyone’s favorite mutant weather goddess, Ororo Munroe, a.k.a. Storm. As played by actress Alexandra Shipp, this version of the character, like so many in the X-Men film universe, differs from the one comic book fans know and love. Longtime X-fans will recall that Ororo was a much more peaceful person when she first met Charles Xavier, and only shaved her head and adopted a mohawk after becoming something of a rebel. In X-Men: Apocalypse, Storm begins as a more disenchanted teenager. The change is understandable, however, given her backstory about the loss of her parents. So it makes sense that she would be swayed by the godlike Apocalypse and his cult of Horsemen before joining Xavier’s School…

Captain America: Civil War

WHIH World News is at it again. The fictional network and its “Newsfront” host Christine Everhart (actress Leslie Bibb) have landed an exclusive interview with U.S. President Ellis (William Sadler). Introduced in Iron Man 3, the politician recently appeared in TV’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and here chats about appointing General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (played by William Hurt) as Secretary of State, a role in which he’ll bring no end of trouble to the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War

Above Suspicion

Terminator Genisys 4

Though Emilia Clarke recently announced she would not be returning to the role of Sarah Connor in any sequel to Terminator Genisys (pictured above), the Game of Thrones star hasn’t lost her taste for big-screen thrills. Clarke has signed on to join Jack Huston in Above Suspicion. Directed by Phillip Noyce, the film is based on the book by Joe Sharkey, about the true story of an FBI agent assigned to a small town in Kentucky who began an affair with his local informant; this eventually led to the first conviction of an FBI agent for murder.

Monsterpocalypse

Monsterpocalypse

Finally today… Move over Jumanji! After a “heated bidding war” that began just last week, Warner Bros. is adapting the battle miniatures board game Monsterpocalypse by creator Matt Wilson and Privateer Press. Evil Dead remake helmer Fede Alvarez directs the film, which focuses on humans in monster suits fighting giant monsters. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will take a different direction to the subject than Pacific Rim.
