Movie Morsels: DOCTOR STRANGE Trailer Coming Next Week, Plus New Benedict Cumberbatch Photo

If you don’t like superheroes then you might want to stop reading now. Because today’s Movie Morsels has the latest and greatest on both of Marvel’s two upcoming epics—Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange—as well as an update on DC/Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman. But hey, if you really hate costumed champions, we’ve also got goodies from Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book and Pixar‘s latest animated short. Because we love you all. Yes, we do.

Doctor Strange

Filming has wrapped on Doctor Strange, and star Benedict Cumberbatch is already back in London working on the next season of Sherlock. But don’t fret just because we won’t be seeing any more breaking spy pics from the film; Marvel will unveil its first official trailer next week on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! And Kimmel has a whole week of sweetness in store for fans of the MCU.

On Monday, the host will welcome the actors who make up Team Cap in Captain America: Civil War, followed by Cumberbatch introducing the Strange trailer on Tuesday, then Civil War‘s Team Iron Man on Wednesday, and Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, on Thursday (natch). Here’s a new photo from Doctor Strange to help whet your appetite for the Sorcerer Supreme’s big screen debut…

Captain America: Civil War

And speaking of Civil War, who wants to watch two new featurettes on the film? ABC’s Good Morning America has released the first one, featuring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and co. chatting with the show’s Nick Watt on the film’s Atlanta set. Meanwhile, the second comes from the Disney UK, and features Evans, Downey, and the powerhouse directing duo that is the Russo Brothers talking all things Civil War

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman

It turns out we’ll have even less time to wait for Princess Diana of Themiscrya to make her solo feature film debut. Warner Bros has announced that Wonder Woman‘s release date has been moved forward from from June 23, 2017, to June 2, 2017. Meanwhile, the studio has pushed back the release date of the Andy Serkis-directed The Jungle Book a whole year, from October 6, 2017 to October 19, 2018.

The Jungle Book

And since we’re talking about The Jungle Book… We’ve got a brand-new featurette on the Jon Favreau-helmed adaptation of the Disney animated musical (itself based on the Rudyard Kipling novel). Here’s Bill Murray, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, and the rest of the film’s voice cast chatting about the film (which is getting killer reviews, by the way)…

Piper

Lastly today, we have your first look at Pixar’s latest short animated short Piper, about an adorable little beach bird. The film runs before the upcoming Finding Dory, and had a groundbreaking new look which falls somewhere between photo-realism and children’s book illustration…
