Mewtwo Now Downloadable In SUPER SMASH BROS.

New challenger approaching! Nintendo has finally sent out the download codes for the previously announced Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS  fighter, Mewtwo.

This was part of the promotion that required you to register both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game on Club Nintendo. It also gave those that completed the requirements a free copy of the game soundtrack, but those went out a while back. Just when you thought it was safe to drop the Gamecube controller and enjoy Mortal Kombat X, Smash Bros. pulls you right back in.

The email that was sent out to those savy enough to register both versions of the game contained a code for both platforms. Don’t worry, if you didn’t have the chance or didn’t want to spend the money on both versions of the game, Mewtwo will be available for purchase on April 28th. Purchasing the psychic creature will only set you back $3.99 or $4.99 if you want the bundle that includes Mewtwo for both platforms. Not a bad price point — the two week wait may be the hardest part to swallow.

The new addition also brings a new DLC shop to the game that allows you to make your purchases within the software instead of in the shop. You will actually be prompted to enter the download code within the software if you try otherwise. The shop is already populated with some new gear for your Mii fighter to wear. Some of the gear is top notch, with the inclusion of outfits like Megaman X clothes.

Nintendo just understands how to do DLC right, without it feeling like some cheap cash grab, and while at the same time rewarding the most loyal fans. Smash your way into the comments section below and let us know if you got the free DLC code or whether you will be purchasing it later on. What other characters do you want to see added? Keep the good fight going.
