The New Metallica Funko Pop! Figures Are Very Metal

Metallica has been around for nearly 40 years now, and the music industry has changed a lot while they’ve been in it, meaning that their music has been available on a variety of formats. Whether you’re into vinyl records, cassette tapes, CD’s, digital downloads, or streaming, you’ll be able to get some Metallica in your ears just fine.

After all these years, though, the band members themselves have really only been available on one format: human being. That’s about to change, though, because like their records, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo will also be available on vinyl, thanks to the latest set of Funko Pop! figures.

The titans of metal will get their own big-headed figures this August, so the band has never looked so cute. At least for Hetfield, the vinyl figures are modeled after the band’s look in the late ’80s and early ’90s, because the locks of long hair sure are flowing, in contrast to Hetfield’s more clean cut look he goes for nowadays.

All of the flourishes are accounted for, though, like Hammett’s signature facial hair and Trujillo’s shorts. The latter’s figure actually looks like his 12-year-old son Tye (minus the soul patch, of course), who recently joined Korn for some South American tour dates.

If you need more musical Funko figures in your life beyond these four, the company has also made some for fellow rock legends like Jimi Hendrix, Lemmy, and others. Check out the entire line here, and let us know in the comments if you plan on picking these ones up.
