Matt Murdock Wants to Save His City in First DAREDEVIL Teaser

Who’s ready for a glimpse of Marvel’s Daredevil? Step right up because we have your first official teaser of Charlie Cox in action as Matt Murdock. And yes, it truly is a tease. This is a 15 second glimpse of the full trailer for Daredevil that’s arriving tomorrow, February 4th. We know teasers for trailers seem silly, but you know what? It’s an effective strategy. After viewing the teaser, I’ll be hovering over the Daredevil Twitter feed tomorrow waiting for more. Watch the tease and see if it has that effect on you:

“I’m just trying to make my city a better place.”

Murdock’s statement/promise reminds me of Oliver Queen’s attitude towards Starling City in Arrow. That’s not entirely a bad thing, and it doesn’t mean Daredevil is parroting Arrow. The idea that Murdock is using his extraordinary abilities to help Hell’s Kitchen is right from the comic books and hinted at in the synopsis for the series. But hey, we probably shouldn’t jump to conclusions after seeing 15 seconds of footage. Let’s reserve complete judgment until we’ve seen a whole minute.

Daredevil is the first of the Marvel series specifically made for Netflix, and it promises something different. While the dark and gritty vibe is common in on-screen adaptations in the DC Comics camp, Marvel hasn’t leaned into that territory in the same way. Daredevil marks a change, and I’m interested to see how it will play out.

All 13 episodes of Daredevil will be available on Netflix on April 10, 2015. I’m already clearing my calendar for a marathon. Who’s with me?

It’s funny that DC is “dark and gritty”er than MARVEL.
On 2010s tv compared to movies now , maybe… but it sure wasn’t when Stan Lee had his comics reaction in the early ’60s. Funny how times changed.

Exited for the dark, grim and gritty, sorta-like-not-really-THE FLASH, DAREDEVIL show.

Starting to get the sinking feeling that that’s gonna be his costume for the entire series…

Not for nothing, but have the producers BEEN to Hell’s Kitchen recently? Who’s Daredevil gonna fight, the writing staff for The Daily Show? Patrons at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club going back to their $2.6 million condos? Lexus Dealers?

The writing staff at TDS can be quite the formidable adversary, I assure you.  They can be very dangerous with their sharp wit, scathing sarcasm & blisteringly fast ability to mock you to oblivion. Don’t sleep on them….

Isn’t every superhero really just wanting to make his city and the world a better place?
