Marvel’s RUNAWAYS Running to Hulu, and More TV News

Marvel’s made a nice, comfortable home on Netflix with original series such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, but they’re not stopping there. The comic book company is making the leap to Hulu with an adaptation of Runaways. Learn what we know about it in today’s TV-Cap. While you’re at it, check out a Supernatural coloring book, grab some details on a Scream Halloween special, and more.

Different Streaming. Marvel’s Runaways, a comic created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, is heading to the world of streaming on Hulu. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, creators of Gossip Girl, are at the head of this project, and so far they have an order for a pilot and additional scripts. They’re planning to stick to the basic premise of the comics, focusing on “six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe – their parents.” Do you think a series greenlight is coming? What Does It Mean? That recently released clip for season seven of The Walking Dead hints at a death, but it could also mean that someone survives. If you’re ready for some speculation and maybe some spoilers, watch the latest Nerdist News. [Nerdist]

How About a New Face? Someone’s going to die in The Walking Dead, but don’t worry, there are often new additions to the cast too. Cinema Blend reports the AMC show is casting for a character named Brion, who is an “educated, poker-faced leader.” Is Brion in charge of another group of survivors? Casting is reportedly open to a male or female for the role, so it’s tricky to nail down theories about the identity of the character. Do you have any guesses based on the comic? House of Horrors. Syfy’s horror anthology Channel Zero had a greater-than-zero chance of moving forward (especially since it was picked up for two season), and now its second installment has a title: Channel Zero: The No-End House. Amy Forsyth has been tapped to star in No-End House; she’ll play Margo Sleator, a woman who visits the house, which, by the way, is a bizarre house of horrors. Ruh-roh. If this creepypasta series isn’t sounding familiar to you, it’s because the first season hasn’t aired yet. Channel Zero: Candle Cove will premiere on September 27. [Deadline]

Color Demons. Pick up your salt-colored crayons and kick back with Supernatural: The Official Coloring Book. It’s coming out on September 20, so you have plenty of time to carefully shade the faces of the Winchester brothers before next season begins. See some of the interior pages here at Nerdist. Teases in a Flash. The Flash’s executive producer Todd Helbing talked to IGN about what’s ahead for season three, including Dr. Alchemy and Savitar. The latter is a speedster, and Helbing said, “I think in general if you have some of these other meta humans, it gets hard to show how Barry can’t get them. If you have another speedster, especially someone like Zoom, or Reverse Flash, you need somebody on an equal level to provide that threat that a lot of these other metas can’t do.” He also dropped a few words about the upcoming musical crossover with Supergirl. Read the interview at IGN.

Answering Questions. MTV hasn’t renewed Scream for season three yet, but some lingering questions from season two will be addressed with a special. A two-hour Scream Halloween special will air on MTV in October. You can see a tease above. [TVLine]

Title This. We’re currently rather obsessed with all things related to Netflix’s Stranger Things, and we’re not alone. The show’s opening sequence is so memorable that some enterprising individual made a website that allows you to enter text and get your own title screen—like magic. [Nerdist]

Witches at War. You ready for this? Freeform has a series in development about young women receiving combat magic training and being forced to fight in the American Revolution. I don’t know if I should be, but I’m intrigued. The series, titled Motherland, is written by Eliot Laurence and is being called an epic military fantasy. [Deadline]

Innocent Ned. When Ned first arrived to King’s Landing in Game of Thrones, he wasn’t exactly naive but he didn’t exactly get how the game was played. He learned a thing or two in the season one episode “You Win or You Die,” and you can read Michael’s recap right this way.
