It’s San Diego Comic Con time, so that means we’re being blessed by the TV gods with trailers and teasers for all of the awesome new shows and movies coming out. Netflix has got a solid lineup of Marvel shows coming out with a third season of Daredevil and the premiere of Defenders and Luke Cage. But one of the shows I was most interested to get a peek into was one filled with characters we haven’t met yet in the Netflix Marvel-verse: Iron Fist.

After watching the teaser trailer we know… well, we really know next to nothing more about the show, apart from the fact that we’ve gotten an actual glimpse of Finn Jones in all of his bearded, non-Lorased glory as the Iron Fist himself, Danny Rand. We also get a bit of a look into Rand’s tragic backstory. He loses his parents in a plane crash that leaves him stranded in the mountains. Young Danny is then discovered by two monks, and we really don’t see anything more of him until we get a shot of him walking barefoot through New York City, presumably after escaping from whoever had him imprisoned and strapped down to a bed.

The teaser is understandably short, but it definitely portrays Danny as a complete badass… also not too worried about walking through the streets of NYC without shoes, which is almost a superhuman feat in and of itself. He is also crazy strong, and looks like he’ll be a fascinating hero to get to know throughout the show’s first season. It will be really exciting to see how he plays into the dark and twisty superhero ‘verse Netflix has created. With his role in the upcoming Defenders, I also cannot WAIT to see him working with the likes of Jessica Jones and Frank Castle.

We also got a whole new The Defenders teaser, and while it doesn’t show a whole lot, it’s cool to get the notion of those four heroes teaming up.
