Well this is adorable and precious. For his wife Amanda’s 26th birthday, Corey Kundert went above and beyond the call of wish fulfillment and surprised her with an elaborate Harry Potter-themed birthday party. She may have thought Corey’s gift of a handmade Elder Wand (that he gave to her at a local coffee shop) was the whole kit and kaboodle, but little did she know that was just the beginning.
When she got home she discovered their house had been decorated and catered with Harry Potter inspired trimmings and food. She was greeted by a balloon Hedwig carrying heaps of letters for herânot just her acceptance into Hogwartsâas well as wanted posters reminiscent of the ones Sirius Black adorned (we’ll let the lack of actual movement in his wife’s photo slide).
She also got a Hagrid cake, but since we all know no one wants to eat anything Hagrid cooks, her husband also made her another one in a mandrake pot, complete with a tiny mandrake he created by cutting a doll in half and dying its hair green.
Corey, who has never read the books, made everything himselfâfood, decorations, and even some “Dark Mark” tattoos, (guess they have some friends from House Slytherin). The party was actually back in March, but she just posted the photos online this week to ensure an entire weekend’s worth of jealousy.
“I swear, I mustâve accidentally sipped some Felix Felicis sometime in my life, this guy is just unreal,” she (adorably) told Buzzfeed. Amanda says she became a Harry Potter fan after deciding to read the first book on a camping trip with her husband. Just a few weeks later she had finished the entire series.
We have some more photos in our gallery below to check out, but head over to Amandaâs page on Imgur to see them all.
