Attention, all you Doctor Strange cosplayers out there. The pièce de résistance to complete your upcoming costume as the Sorcerer Supreme for this yearâs convention season has been found at last. A Twitter user going by the name Rainmaker1973 recently shared a video made by some Marvel fans from Japan (via Reddit), and shows two LED fans being used to recreate the magical rune signatures used by Benedict Cumberbatch when casting spells as Stephen Strange in both Doctor Strange as well as in Avengers: Infinity War. You can check out a very cool video of the LED fans in action down below.
A brilliant use of LED fans to recreate Dr Strange spell: we could say it’s a cosplay, but it’s actually a remarkable interpretation of technology https://t.co/OW6ef7oa2g (J) | https://t.co/Xpbot3fH2t pic.twitter.com/JWbSxWy1WD

While these LED fans look like something that might be too complicated to put together for the average cosplayer, the components used to make this magical rune replicas are actually made from readily available tech by a company called Phantom, which sells two different kinds of 3D holographic displays; together they can create the illusion of the spell signatures as seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So expect to see battles between Doctor Strange, Wong, and all the forces of dark magic reenacted in the halls of comic book conventions from now until the end of time, thanks to these amazing LED fans.
Just how much will this set you back to complete your Doctor Strange cosplay look? Well, it’s definitely not cheap — we are thinking it’ll probably set back the average customer several hundred dollars, but it would probably be worth it to have the ultimate in magical Marvel cosplay, wouldn’t it?
What do you make of this ultra cool way to visually recreate Strange’s powers? Be sure to let us know down below in the comments.
