Breaking Bad famously introduced Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman as âa criminal lawyer,â but Better Call Saul season 1 played against expectations by depicting the man who will be Saul as a genuinely decent person.
Before he was Saul Goodman, Jimmy McGill was a struggling lawyer striving for legitimacy while attempting to do the right thing at all times. But after being betrayed by his older brother, Chuck (Michael McKean), Jimmy rejected âthe right thingâ and a potentially lucrative job at a law firm.
AMC has unveiled the first new trailer for Better Call Saul season 2, and it seems that Jimmy is definitely moving towards his Saul Goodman persona. In these brief scenes, Jimmyâs friend, Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) appears to be horrified by his newfound lack of morality. The trailer also hints at Jimmyâs upcoming crimes and the beginning of Jimmy’s partnership with Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks).
The trailer is light on story details, and Chuck McGill is nowhere to be seen. In the final episodes of the first season, Jimmy discovered that Chuck had sabotaged his chances at getting his dream job at Chuckâs law firm. In response, Jimmy abandoned Chuck and left him to face his âelectromagnetic hypersensitivityâ by himself.
The first season of Better Call Saul is out on DVD and Blu-ray. The second season will premiere on Monday, February 15.
