Yesterday, Marvel Studios unleashed the cast list for Thor: Ragnarok which confirmed Cate Blanchett and Tessa Thompson as Hela and Valkyrie, respectively. There were also the surprise additions of Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster and Karl Urban as Skurge the Executioner. And yet fans were equally shocked by the apparent absence of Lady Sif and the Warriors Three, Thor‘s best friends on Asgard. If Asgard is going to face Ragnarok, you’d expect its best heroes to be there!
Fortunately, Lady Sif’s portrayer, Jaimie Alexander has apparently hinted at her return in the movie with a knowing tweet.

It truly wouldn’t be a Thor film without Sif, but there are still plenty of questions about what she’ll be doing in Thor: Ragnarok if she isn’t accompanying Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) on their intergalactic road trip.
The Marvel movies may tend to ignore the Marvel television shows, but it’s possible that Sif’s two appearances on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may hold some clues about what she’s been up to. As fans, we know from Thor: The Dark World that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has seized the throne of Asgard while posing as Odin (Anthony Hopkins). That means Loki has been in power for a few years now, and Sif didn’t exactly seem happy to be running errands for him in her two TV appearances.
There is also another thing to keep in mind about Sif in the Thor franchise. When Loki first assumed female form in Marvel’s comic book universe, he did it with Sif’s body. Perhaps we may finally see Lady Loki in the potentially final Thor movie.
Are you excited that Alexander will probably be back as Lady Sif in Thor: Ragnarok? Let us know in the comment section below!
